Panamanian footballer Fidel Escobar had an excellent performance on Wednesday in the first leg of the Final of the Costa Rican first division football championship, held at the Ricardo Saprissa Stadium. Escobar, who plays for the purple team as a midfielder, scored the equalizing goal to make it 2-2 against Liga Deportiva Alajuelense. Escobar's goal came in the 64th minute with a long-range shot, which goalkeeper Washington Ortega failed to save properly. It is worth noting that Saprissa had taken the lead in the 45+2 minute with a goal from Orlando Sinclair, but Liga Deportiva Alajuelense reacted quickly with goals from Michel K. and Bran Flores at 45+6 and 45+10, respectively. It should be highlighted that, in addition to his goal, Escobar was active throughout the match, being the standout player for his team. The second leg will be played tomorrow, Saturday at 8:00 PM (Panama time) at the Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium.
