Costa Ricans Lead Vuelta a Costa Rica After Leader Change

Costa Rican cyclists continue to dominate the Vuelta Internacional a Costa Rica, and after yesterday's stage, they maintained the lead in the individual general classification, although the leader's name changed.

The sixth stage of the Vuelta Ciclista Internacional a Chiriquí 2025, Copa Telca, saw Alejandro Granados become the new leader after winning the stage that concluded at the mythical La Chancleta climb in Boquete.

Granados took over from his teammate at Colono Bikestation Kolbi, Pablo Mudarra, after joining a breakaway in the final 18 kilometers, crossing the finish line in a time of 3 hours, 11 minutes, and 52 seconds.

The route was from David to the entrance of San Andrés, San Pablo, Dolega, Potrerillos, and La Chancleta, covering 127.2 kilometers and including two mountain prizes. This left "tico" Sergio Arias, also from Colono Bikestation Kolbi, as the champion with 24 points.

Second place in the stage went to Sergio Arias, who finished 16 seconds behind, and third place to Joseph Ramírez, 19 seconds behind, making it another all-Colono Bikestation Kolbi podium.

The best Panamanian rider on this "queen" stage was Randish Lorenzo of the National Police-Aeronaval, finishing 3 minutes and 58 seconds behind.
