Panamanian footballer Fidel Escobar will aim to secure his fifth title with Costa Rica's Saprissa and surpass Adolfo Machado when he plays in the final of Costa Rican football against Alajuelense in a two-legged final series. Fidel Escobar was crowned champion with Saprissa in the Apertura 2022, Clausura, and Apertura 2023 tournaments, as well as the Clausura 2024, so he will be seeking his fifth title with the "Purples." The only Panamanian with four titles in Saprissa is Adolfo Machado, who achieved this between 2014 and 2016. Another Panamanian who could be crowned with the purples is Gustavo Herrera, but he was not part of Vladimir Quesada's squad in the semifinals. The first leg of the final of the second stage of the Apertura 2025 tournament will be played today at the Ricardo Saprissa Stadium (9:00 p.m., Panamanian time), and the second leg will be on Saturday at the Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium.
